The RA National Assembly adopted legislative package of amendments “On Defense” law and related drafts with 71 votes in favor.
The Deputy Minister of Defense Gabriel Balayan noted that the term of “Volunteer army” is legally defined as voluntary civilian participation in RA armed defense during offensive, hostilities or imminent military threat to Armenia.
Deputy Minister stated that Voluntary army will be consisted by military units, brigades and battalions. The general command of the Voluntary army will be carried out by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces.
