"Yesterday, unfortunately, during the battles that took place in the late hours, the enemy managed to capture Kubatlu and advance in some directions". The representative of the RA Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan said about that during the briefing.
"Early this morning, as reported by the Defense Army, the Azerbaijani armed forces, joined by terrorist militants, as well as units of the armed forces of other countries, launched a large-scale offensive in several directions in the southeast, simultaneously shelling and bombing the cities of Artsakh. There is already an official message about the injured civilians", Hovhannisyan said.
According to him, during the whole day those bandits did not manage to break through the front, although in some places they seemed to be successful, but our subdivisions managed to retake the front line.
"At the same time, the search and destruction operations of subversive groups continued in the forests of the villages north of Hadrut. Some subversive groups even left their cars and fled, but fighting continued in several villages, including Sheikher, Jivanik, Azokh and other nearby villages. The search and defeat processes continue in this direction", Hovhannisyan said, noting that the enemy was successful in some places, approached the gates of Syunik, but the situation is not extreme.
"I believe in the arm of an Armenian soldier, I believe in the intelligence, skill and endurance of an Armenian soldier. If the Armenian soldier retreated somewhere, but in many places he forced the special detachments of the world's leading armies to flee, and this is repeated almost every day. Often we retreat because people's lives are more expensive, we take new lines, but it is not fatal. The situation is hard, the battles are fierce, the war is fierce, but it is not desperate.
I am sure we will win. We have seen many such days in the course of our history, but I am sure we will win because we have no alternative ․ This is the struggle for our existence," Hovhannisyan stressed.
