"Throughout all this time, we have been extremely flexible, and during that we have come to the conclusion that Azerbaijan does not want a settlement of the Karabakh issue, but at least wants the capitulation of Karabakh. The RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this live on Facebook, emphasizing that it was like that even before the war.
"Where we have shown any flexibility on a theoretical or practical level, it was no longer acceptable for Azerbaijan. Once we agreed on something, it was no longer acceptable for Azerbaijan, because they wanted more", Pashinyan said.
The Prime Minister also asked - whether the Armenian people are ready for compromises. "I think, yes, the Armenian people are ready to compromise. Ready for even painful compromises. But are the Armenian people ready for capitulation? I think the Armenian people are not ready for capitulation under any circumstances. As impossible as it may seem in the logic of our limited resources, the Armenian people must find resources to resist and defend their rights.
Given the international flexibility expected of us, we must have the strength to act close to the red lines of our interests, but on the other hand, it is impossible to imagine the Armenian people capitulating. So we must find resources to make the situation such that Azerbaijan's demand is no longer a capitulation to Karabakh, but a compromise", he said.
According to Pashinyan, Armenia should be constructive for the international community, but at the same time defend its interests in order to force Azerbaijan to compromise.
