"The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia has repeatedly stated his readiness and necessity for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict on the basis of compromise, within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs", Mane Gevorgyan, Spokeswoman for the Prime Minister, told 1Lurer.am.
She reminded - The Prime Minister Pashinyan has stated earlier that Azerbaijan renounces the agreements reached, showing a maximalist approach.
According to the PM Speaker, Pashinyan said when Armenia declares - this or that compromise is acceptable, which seemed to be acceptable also for Azerbaijan before, the compromise quickly becomes unacceptable for Baku. As soon as Armenia expresses readiness to compromise, Azerbaijan immediately demands more.
"So, the statement of the President of Azerbaijan that Armenia should declare its adherence to the basic principles of the settlement, developed by the United States, Russia and France, is surprising, because Armenia has always and now adheres to those principles", mentioned Mane Gevorgyan.
To remind - The Azerbaijani president Aliyev told Fox News that he wants the military phase of the Karabakh conflict to end soon and substantive talks to begin.
