On October 23, the RA Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is on a working visit to the United States, met with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Igor Popov (Russia), Stefan Visconti (France), Andrew Chaffer (USA), and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk.
The interlocutors referred to the situation in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone. The Minister Mnatsakanyan expressed deep concern over Azerbaijan's failure to follow the ceasefire agreements (reached on October 10 and 17) and stressed that Azerbaijan's aspirations to resolve the conflict by military means are a challenge for the entire region.
The parties reaffirmed the need of immediate implementation of the ceasefire agreements and the establishment of a lasting ceasefire through verification mechanisms. The need to continue the peace process exclusively within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs was also stressed.
