The representative of the Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan presented the operative-tactical situation on the Artsakh-Azerbaijani border today, at the Armenian Unified InfoCenter.
"This morning the Azerbaijani armed forces continued their offensive operations in different directions. During the day, various settlements were shelled, including the town of Martakert, with different settlements, and the town of Berdzor with adjacent settlements. Three shells fell in the Berdzor region", Hovhannisyan said.
The neutralization of the Azerbaijani bandits and subversive groups that carried out subversive infiltration operations in Shekher, Jivanik and nearby villages was especially hot during the day, Hovhannisyan said.
"In particular, Shekher settlement, with its adjacent forests has been almost completely cleaned of enemy, those works are still going on in the adjacent forests of some settlements", Hovhannisyan mentioned.
"At the same time, the enemy forces tried to attack in the southern direction - in the direction of Vorotan, several attempts of attack failed, after which the enemy was repulsed with significant losses. Some subdivisions were disintegrated, losing their armored vehicles, and fled, taking refuge in gorges and forests.
In the section south of Berdzor (north of the Hakari River), the enemy was pushed back much souther, under the press of the attacks of our armed forces. In general, the tension remains. There are mainly localized battles. There are no clear front lines in this direction at the moment. They are trying to carry out attacks around different roads, rivers, junctions, which are neutralized by our armed forces. This is the real situation.
Our successes are steady. The war is tense, it is hard, very often there are situations that some people think are desperate, but it is not so. Our armed forces are in full control of the situation and deliver devastating blows to the enemy in different directions, in different parts, although in some directions the enemy has made progress", Artsrun Hovhannisyan concluded, adding that the battles continue day and night.
