At a special session of Armenia's National Assembly on October 21, two bills passed the two required readings on the same day. They provide exemptions to import taxes on items donated to the Armenian Ministries of Defense, Emergency Situations, Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, High Technologies and Health, originating from Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan.
The package also exempts banks and credit organizations from tax liabilities arising from forgiving debts and penalties to those killed or disabled as a result of military operations, as well as their parents, spouse and children.
The emergency legislation was signed into law by President Armen Sarkissian the following day, October 22. The provisions of the package will remain in effect until the ongoing martial law legal regime is lifted.
