On the initiative of the RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, the issue of removing a number of countries, including Turkey, from the list of countries using the EEU common system of tariff preferences will be included in the agenda of the forthcoming sitting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
According to Article 36 of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union, the EEU member states provide preferences for goods originating in developing and least developed countries. The list of countries benefiting from the preferences were approved in 2009 by the decision of the Eurasian Customs Union. Currently, 103 countries enjoy the benefits.
