Today, Armenian President Armen Sargsyan met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
In his speech after the meeting, Stoltenberg, in particular, said, "We had also a discussion on the crisis in Nagorno Karabakh. I reminded the President that NATO is not a part of this conflict. Both Armenia and Azerbaijan have been valuable partners of NATO for more than 25 years. NATO is deeply concerned about the continuing violations of the ceasefire, which have claimed human lives.
It is important for NATO and international security to end hostilities, end suffering and find a peaceful settlement. It is vital that all sides now show restraint, follow the ceasefire and ease tensions.
Any targeting of the civilian population is unacceptable and must be stopped. Everyone must work to reach a lasting political solution to the problem. The efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs continue to be significant".
