The Armenian President Armen Sarkissian met with the European Council President Charles Michel in Brussels.
The latter referred to the meeting with Armen Sarkissian on his Twitter page, noting that he reaffirmed the need to maintain the ceasefire in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
"Violence in Nagorno-Karabakh must end. I have expressed to the President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian our deep concern over the ongoing battles. The parties must respect the ceasefire and return to the negotiating table without preconditions. We consider foreign intervention unacceptable", the European official wrote.
