By a decision made on October 20 (2020), the Government of the Republic of Armenia imposed a temporary ban on the import of final consumer goods of Turkish origin. The ban will take effect on December 31, 2020.
Restricting the import of goods of Turkish origin presupposes, first of all, a security component, taking into account the repeatedly confirmed facts, according to which Turkey openly supports the war and terrorist acts unleashed by Azerbaijan against the Artsakh Republic.
The ban on the import of goods of Turkish origin suspends the financial supply of the Turkish state treasury from Armenian sources, and at the same time prevents the penetration of possible dangers into Armenia through the import of final consumer goods from that showing hostility country.
