The UN Security Council discussed the issue of ensuring control over the ceasefire in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
After the closed session of the Security Council, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN said that the most urgent issue now is a ceasefire, as the agreement was reached but not observed.
According to Vasily Nebenzia, the most important question remains how to ensure control over its implementation. The Russian diplomat also clarified that a special mandate of the Security Council will be needed to send a UN observer mission to the region.
