The French side initiated a telephone conversation between Russian and French Presidents Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron, according to the Kremlin's official website.
The two leaders discussed in detail the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. Vladimir Putin informed about the steps taken to prevent further escalation of hostilities and to resume talks on a speedy political and diplomatic settlement of the Karabakh conflict. The importance of maintaining the ceasefire agreement reached between the conflicting parties on October 10 and 17 was stressed.
The readiness of Russia and France, as co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, as well as the UN Security Council, to closely coordinate the work, was emphasized.
