The Former US Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Carey Cavanaugh referred to the current events in Nagorno Karabakh and said that there is no military solution to the conflict. This was reported by Al Jazeera.
"Armenia and Azerbaijan are now on the verge of a sharp escalation of hostilities, which will lead to greater human suffering and the risk of provoking serious military intervention by foreign powers", Carey Cavanaugh said.
He noted that Aliyev, resisting the calls to cease hostilities and return to the table of negotiations, has gone to a military solution with the support of Turkey. According to Carey Cavanaugh, it is not hostilities but negotiations that will provide an opportunity to talk about a lasting settlement.
