Two days ago we informed that an application for urgent measures had been submitted to the European Court of Human Rights on behalf of the two captured servicemen. The court made a decision to request information from the Azerbaijani government, setting a deadline of 22.10.2020. The human rights activist, former Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan wrote about it on his Facebook page.
"Taking into account the revealed episodes on the gross violations of humanitarian law by Azerbaijan, an application was once again submitted to the European Court and evidence of war crimes against Armenian prisoners of war was presented.
Short time ago the court granted the claim of the Armenian applicants, obliging the Government of Azerbaijan to ensure the inviolability of the lives of Areg Sargsyan and Narek Amirjanyan and their right to health. At the same time, the Court demanded from Azerbaijan submit information to the European Court on their status and health until 22.10.2020.
