France and Germany have accused Turkey of provoking the European Union with its actions in the Mediterranean, giving Ankara a week to clarify its position, Reuters reports.
The European Alliance has said it may consider imposing sanctions on Turkey at its EU December summit.
"It is clear to us that Turkey is constantly carrying out provocative actions, which is unacceptable", the French Foreign Minister said.
He also criticized Turkey's role in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, where it supports Azerbaijan in military operations against Armenia. Jean-Yves Le Drian noted that there can be no military victory in this issue, therefore the fire must be stopped.
The only country that does not call for a ceasefire is Turkey, which is extremely harmful, he said.
