As reported earlier, the Austrian Parliament unanimously adopted a resolution condemning Turkey's military intervention in the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict.
The MFA of the Artsakh Republic has issued a statement, which particularly reports:
"The Federal Government, in particular the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs, is called upon to continue to work at both bilateral and multilateral levels to ensure the immediate cessation of hostilities under international law, in particular the civilian population and international civil defense infrastructure.
In this context, the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs is called upon at European level to call on the European Union to provide humanitarian assistance to the affected civilian population and to use its influence on all actors involved in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to provide access to humanitarian assistance.
The Federal Minister for European and International Affairs is called upon at European level to urge the EU to exert its influence on all actors involved, particularly Turkey, to end foreign interference in the conflict, such as arms supplies to the conflicting parties, to promote rapid de-escalation, and a lasting ceasefire. To the extent permitted by the COVID-19 situation, take steps for the rapid return of OSCE observers and return to the table of negotiating.
In addition, the responsible Federal Minister is requested to assist in the substantive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through substantive negotiations under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, and, if necessary, to facilitate direct talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Vienna".
