Children also suffer as a result of war unleashed by Azerbaijan. A 9-year-old girl was killed at her place of residence in the Artsakh Republic on October 15. Her 2-year-old brother got serious body injuries during the shelling of Martuni.
A 13-year-old boy was injured in a drone attack on his way home from the Arsakh’s town of Martakert due to heavy shelling. He remained in a coma for 5 days. Drone stroke to car, all the members of family had serious body injuries. On October 14, a 14-year-old boy was wounded near the Vardenis-Sotk highway after Azeri drone was damaged.
The children’s right of education is also in danger. Since October 27, all educational institutes in Artsakh have been closed indefinitely. More than 24 thousand children do not attend to school and do not have opportunity to exercise his right to education. Due to the state of war, more than 10.815 children from 119 border regions of Armenia have been deprived of educational opportunities since October 27.
For security reasons, the schools of these communities, as well as the primary vocational and secondary vocational education institutions, have organized distance lessons. Thousands of children in the same communities are unable to attend kindergarten.
