The President of the Republic of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan posted a special video message on his Facebook page about the current situation and the steps to implement.
"Dear compatriots, brothers and sisters in diaspora, I am addressing you the following message. Since September 27, the large-scale war continues unleashed by the international terrorism, Azerbaijan and Turkey against the Armenian people of Artsakh. The Defense Army continues to heroically resist, initiating strong counterattacks to the enemy, causing enormous human and military equipment losses. During the battles, our compatriots from Mother Armenia and the Diaspora show their best. I would especially like to emphasize the participation of our comrades-in-arms, who have made a great contribution to the defense of the Homeland, as well as our Privates.
We also see the active efforts of Russia and the international community to end hostilities, and we appreciate their mission. A trilateral meeting was recently held in Moscow on the initiative of the Russian President. A statement was made, at least in connection with the humanitarian ceasefire, to resume negotiations in the future. But what happened? The enemy, on the contrary, took the opportunity and started stronger fighting the next day, especially in the southern direction. The enemy managed to penetrate, to have advantages somewhere, and to move forward.
We understand that we have only one way to bring the enemy to ceasefire: we must FORCE them. We are in favor of starting our responsibility for the humanitarian mission without preconditions and continuing the negotiations to resolve the issue peacefully. Although it is already impossible in a peaceful way, it is not too late. The enemy has chosen another way, not the solution of the Artsakh issue, but the annihilation, first of all, of the Artsakh Armenians, and then, if it succeeds, also of Armenia. We recognize that handwriting.
We had more difficult times in 1992-1994, when heavy fighting took place on the outskirts of Gandzasar, Askeran, Martuni, Hadrut, and other places. We managed to win because we believed in victory. We still believe today. We believe that we will win, we must unite, most importantly, take part in battles.
I expect the active participation of my brothers - Karabakh people living in the Diaspora and our brothers living in Armenia. Today is a crucial moment - to keep or not to keep our Homeland, to live an honorable life. We must continue to live with honor, that is why I call for not only material but also physical participation, we need it. We will win", Artsakh President said.
