Nvard Alexanyan, resident of Stepanakert, Artsakh: That is the house there. On the 5th floor. Those ruins and walls, as you see. The Turk passed here as they say. We were going to drink coffee before coming down. We switched it off, came out and it started. Thanks God everybody is safe. Our neighbor of the first floor suffered a head injury, but fortunately, it is a light one and he is receiving medical assistance. This is the trace of rockets and big bombs, as they were several, not one, that had blasted here.
Yuri Avagyan, resident of Stepanakert, Artsakh:
The most powerful weapon used during the 1994 war was the "Grad", but this time they use unprecedented banned weapons: cluster bombs, "Smerch" and so on. I am just a civilian and was informed that 12 of my pupils were killed. It is a tragedy.
Our homes are destroyed. There are 100 apartments in this building. Let's suppose that a 4-member family lives in each apartment, we will get 400 people, it is like a small village.
Each of us has a military serviceman. This man’s three young sons are serving in the army, so are his two sons.
Nvard Alexanyan, resident of Stepanakert, Artsakh: We are ready to resist anything to avoid being deprived of our homeland. There is no more room for new settlements such as New Marash, New Kilikia, New Maragha, New Shahumyan. Only this small part of territory is left. We are restless, but not desperate. When with God’s help the peace is settled, these ruins will rise again as it is not the first time Stepanakert sees a war.
