While referring to the shelling of the St. Ghazanchetsots Church in Shushi by the enemy yesterday, Archbishop Pargev, the Primate of the Diocese of Artsakh, during a briefing at the Artsakh InfoCenter, said that the “handwriting of the enemy is not new to us, the enemy is the same, it has not changed in 30 years”.
In the 90s, they targeted Gandzasar again, damaged Amaras. Even in our Holy Savior Church in Gyulistan, when some of our people from Shahumyan did not manage to escape, they beheaded 7 people, threw them on the altar and blew up the dome.
This is the same handwriting of barbarians, terrorists. We see that the terrorists are destroying all the spiritual, cultural monuments, they are barbarians. This is understandable and perceptible for us. We did not touch the mosques, we even renovated the mosque in Shushi to our best", he said, pausing for a moment for the journalists at the briefing to hear that the city was being bombed at that very moment.
In response to the question whether “we will be able to restore the church”, Bishop Pargev mentioned: "not only the church but all the damaged towns and villages will be restored”.
