Facebook has removed more than 1,000 registered accounts in Azerbaijan and about 8,000 pages, reports Buzzfeed News. According to the source, those accounts and pages were linked to the ruling "Yeni Azerbaijan" party and were used against the opposition and the media.
Sophie Zhang, a former social media expert who was fired after a year-long investigation into the manipulations by the Azerbaijani's authorities, spoke out.
