The president of football federation of Armenia Armen Melikbekyan sent an appeal letter to UEFA General Secretary Theodoros Theodoridis asking to discuss the expediency of Azerbaijani SOCAR Company being one of the UEFA sponsors.
During recent days, SOCAR company several times has published numerous war photos and videos, made warlike rhetoric posts on its social media official pages.
In his letter, the FFA president once again stressed the importance of football refraining from politics and condemned the UEFA sponsor’s militaristic stance.
The FFA expects that UEFA won’t only discuss the expediency of SOCAR as UEFA sponsorship, but will also issue a statement condemning warlike rhetoric and unacceptable stance
