The RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan gave an interview to TIME magazine, in which he answered questions related to the hostilities unleashed by Azerbaijan in Nagorno Karabakh and Turkey's transfer of terrorist groups to the region.
In an interview with TIME, Nikol Pashinyan again accused Turkey of already intervening militarily in favor of Azerbaijan, claiming that President Erdogan was struggling to expand his influence in the region.
"Armenia and Karabakh have become a civilization front", Pashinyan told TIME by telephone, accusing Erdogan of sending 1,500-2,000 Syrian terrorists to the conflict zone in support of Azerbaijan.
Referring to Turkey's military incursions into Syria, Libya, as well as Turkey's confrontation with Greece in the eastern Mediterranean, Pashinyan said. "Turkey's actions are nothing more than an attempt to restore the Ottoman Empire",
Pashinyan also said that as a condition of the ceasefire, Armenia insists that Turkey "stop its involvement" and "remove or neutralize mercenaries and terrorists".
According to him, mercenaries are persecuting people in Azerbaijani villages and robbing shops selling alcohol, demanding that people follow Sharia law.
