In a telephone conversation with Ilham Aliyev, the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani expressed concern over possible interference by third countries in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Rohani also expressed concern that the intervention could turn the conflict into a regional war.
"Security, stability and tranquility in the region, especially on the northern borders, are very important for us. This conflict and the insecure situation on the border should not pave the way for the influence of some terrorist groups", Rohani was quoted by the IRNA news agency.
The Iranian President also stated that Tehran is ready to take all necessary measures to resolve the Karabakh conflict.
