Haykak Arshamyan, Executive Director of the "Hayastan" All-Armenian Fund, told "Lurer" that he highly appreciates the fundraising process, as everyone participates in it. About 23 million dollars have already been raised.
"Our biggest donation is the $ 500,000 that the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin transferred on the first day. Participation is very high in the Diaspora, especially in Los Angeles, California and France. The Armenian community of California has transferred about 7 million dollars, France has collected about 700-800 thousand dollars.
There is a problem here: where are the people who are big benefactors, big businessmen? We are talking about the benefactors of both the Diaspora and Armenia. We are working with Diaspora benefactors and very soon you will hear about large amounts. In short, the amount transferred by Armenian businesses in this amount is $ 2 million", Arshamyan said, reminding that the Fund is the only way used for cash flows.
"We are waiting for the first 1 million giver, especially from Armenia. We need to raise $ 1 billion. We have a huge potential. This amount that we have collected is a very small part of our potential", Arshamyan concluded.
