"Tbilisi is the place where any negotiations between the parties can take place", said the Gorgian President Salome Zourabichvili after the meeting of the National Security Council of Georgia, referring to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
"I want to appeal to the presidents and governments of our two friendly and neighboring countries to immediately cease fire and start a dialogue", Zourabichvili said. On behalf of herself and the Georgian people, the President of Georgia expressed her condolences to the families of the victims of the conflict.
Calling for de-escalation and a ceasefire, Zourabichvili stated. "This is in the common interest of our three countries. Let's restore stability and peace to the region and restore the region's huge role in the world economy. This is our joint achievement".
The Georgian president also called on the Minsk Group and the European Union to use their leverage to maintain stability and peace in the region.
