There are several ways to impose peace, said Artsakh Foreign Minister Masis Mailyan today.
"One is what our army is doing today on the battlefield. Secondly, if we are talking about Turkey and Azerbaijan, there are various international tools to persuade, as well as to impose sanctions. In other words, the UN Charter mentions the possibility of stopping the aggressor and suspending his activities. I think the international community is still in the first stage, and the next steps must be taken until peace is established", Mailyan said.
He noted that Artsakh had not received an offer of a temporary ceasefire in order to resolve the issue of removing the bodies of the victims from the fire zone. "We are in touch with the Red Cross on this issue. If there is a ceasefire, the problems with the bodies must be resolved, as they were in 2016. We are ready to organize that work", said the Artsakh Foreign Minister.
According to him, only the will of the Armenian side to stop the war is not enough. "Those who started that war, the military aggression, must stop first" he said.
1994 front line should be restored
Speaking about the front line, Masis Mailyan said that the 1994 front line should be restored. According to him, our success on the front line will bring great success in the diplomatic field and vice versa.
"I think we should at least restore the front line, and the international community should contribute to it. In general, the line of 1994, which was approved and agreed between the parties, should be restored. That line has been violated and it is because of that violation Azerbaijan had some success, it gave them the opportunity to start a war in 4 years.
That is, such small territorial achievements become the basis of a big war. I think that Azerbaijan should not gain any territory during this war, and it is the duty of the international community to mediate", said Mailyan, reminding that the ceasefire was signed in the 1990s with the mediation of Russia, and the Russian side has maps of the 1994 ceasefire lines.
Russia is still making efforts, Mailyan said, recalling the joint statement of the presidents of Russia, France and the United States.
"At that time their efforts were successful, and now also they have opportunities, but we have a new factor, the Turkish factor. In other words, if Russia could more easily persuade Azerbaijan to agree to a peaceful way, now the task is more difficult - to persuade Erdogan.
In other words, now a bigger player has appeared, and this must be taken into account", said the Foreign Minister of the Artsakh Republic.
