The RA President Armen Sarkissian gave an interview to the Indian WION TV channel. Referring to the recent events in Karabakh, Sargsyan particularly notes:
"We must clarify that this large-scale war is between the Republic of Artsakh and Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan, in fact, wants to clear this area of Armenians. This is a historical Armenian territory, where Armenians have lived for thousands of years. The people of Nagorno Karabakh declared their independence in 1991. "Instead of continuing the talks (for that there is the platform of the OSCE Minsk Group, co-chaired by Russia, France and the United States) on September 27, Azerbaijan decided to stop the talks and start a war".
Regarding Turkey's role, Sargsyan says: "The only country with which we have no relations is Turkey, because Turkey does not even want to recognize the Armenian Genocide. And the only problem here is Nagorno Karabakh, which is a small enclave of Armenians. However, the Azerbaijani and Turkish sides decided to get rid of it.
This is not the first time that President Erdogan has said something. For example in Iraq, Libya, Syria. He always finds a reason to be involved. I can not agree at all with what Erdogan said. Armenia is not a threat, that Turkey is now a threat to the whole region".
