On October 1, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan had a telephone conversation with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.
Zohrab Mnatsakanyan informed Jean-Yves Le Drian about the incidents of targeting of journalists, covering the situation in Artsakh, in particular, informed his colleague about the state of French journalists, targeted by Azerbaijan.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and France touched upon the tense situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone as a result of a large-scale armed attack by Azerbaijan. In this context, Minister Mnatsakanyan expressed his deep concern over the destabilizing activities of the extra-regional forces, expressing particular concern over the unconditional and unilateral military assistance provided by Turkey to Azerbaijan.
Ministers Mnatsakanyan and Le Drian stressed the inadmissibility of the direct involvement of foreign terrorist militants in the conflict.
During the conversation, they referred to the statement made by the leaders of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries, which contains a call for an immediate cessation of hostilities. The RA Foreign Minister highlighted the role of the Co-Chairs and the Co-Chairing Countries in neutralizing the threats to regional security.
