The RA President Armen Sarkissian gave an interview to CNBC TV channel. To the question, "What will be the end of the conflict? Maybe this should be a matter for international arbitration? Do you see an opportunity for all parties to gather around one table, as the world is busy with other issues today?", Sarkissian answers:
"The international community must understand that if they do not intervene now, the Caucasus will become another big problem for them. Can you imagine the Caucasus becoming another Syria?”.
To the journalist's observation that big problems are possible in the energy sphere, particularly in connection with gas pipelines, Sarkissian answers in part:
"Do not look at this issue in just one dimension. The world is not only about energy, it is much more complicated, there are national interests, stability, trade, logistics and many other issues.
We can not simplify relations between countries based only on energy. Although I was the Chair of the Euro-Atlantic Security Initiative's Energy Group about 10 years ago and I really realize the importance of energy, we can not simplify this issue that much".
