A sitting of the CSTO Permanent Council was held on September 29. The Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the CSTO Victor Biyagov made a speech.
He presented the situation created as a result of the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan along the line of contact with Artsakh, targeting the civilian population and infrastructure, using artillery, airforce.
The Armenian representative drew the attention of his colleagues to the facts of the Azeri aggression being planned in advance, at the same time expressing deep concern over Turkey's unconditional support to Azerbaijan, which is "nothing but an absolute violation of international law".
Biyagov also referred to the spread of misinformation by the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry this morning, which aimed to prepare the ground for the escalation of the conflict and aggression against Armenia.
"Expanding the geography of the conflict may pose an immediate threat to the security, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia. In that case, we will use appropriate military-political mechanisms aimed at the collective response to foreign aggression", Biyagov said.
