The Foreign Ministers of the United Kingdom and Canada, Dominic Raab and Francois-Philippe Champagne, called on the parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to immediately cease fire and resume talks within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. This was reported by TACC.
"Canada and the United Kingdom are deeply concerned about reports of large-scale hostilities along the Line of Contact in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. Reports of shelling and civilian casualties in residential areas are a cause for concern. We call for an immediate end to hostilities and for compliance with the civilian protection and ceasefire agreement", the statement said.
The ministers also stressed that any solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must be based on the principle of non-violence and be regulated through peaceful negotiations within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
"We support the work of the OSCE Minsk Group and fully support yesterday's statement by the Co-Chairs", the joint statement said.
