In addition to active hostilities on the border, the enemy targeted the civilian population of Artsakh, civilian settlements, including the capital Stepanakert, as well as Shushi. Vahram Poghosyan, head of the Central Information Department of the Office of the Artsakh President, stated this during a press conference.
He said that footage had already been released showing the devastation caused by the shelling. According to Poghosyan, unfortunately, there are dozens of wounded among the civilian population and 2 already confirmed fatalities from the city of Martuni, one of whom is a 9-year-old girl. He also said that at the moment the enemy continues to fire intensively along the entire line of contact.
"The statement spread by the enemy a while ago that they were able to occupy several settlements is misinformation. There is no such thing. The Defense Army is in full control of the situation. The President of the Republic has already declared martial law and mobilization. An extraordinary sitting of the National Assembly took place early in the morning" Poghosyan said.
He also noted that there is no panic among the people.
