On September 27, Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II met with Pope Francis in Vatican.
The meeting touched upon the close relations between the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church and the Roman Catholic Churches, as well as the existing cooperation in different spheres.
During the conversation, reference was made to the actions unleashed by Azerbaijan along the entire Artsakh-Azerbaijani line of contact, which resulted in casualties among the civilian population.
The Catholicos of All Armenians considered the word of the Pope important in the issue of cessation of hostilities and peaceful settlement of the conflict.
The Armenian Catholicos and the Pope prayed for the restoration of peace.
