The Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, Major General Jalal Harutyunyan made a statement which reads:
"Compatriots,
About 4 years after the hostilities in 2016, the enemy again resorted to force, believing that in this way it would be able to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in its favor.
On the morning of September 27, the Azerbaijani army attacked the entire length of the line of contact after rocket-propelled grenade launchers and drone strikes. At the moment, the units of the Defense Army are successfully thwarting the enemy's plans, inflicting heavy losses on them.
We have known these plans for a long time, their essence can be expressed in a very brief way: to cleanse Artsakh and Armenia of Armenians.
Be sure, this time too the enemy will fail. Victory will not be easy. True to his nature, the enemy will target peaceful settlements and civilians. He will not distinguish between a soldier and a child, a clergyman and an old woman, an adult man and a helpless old man, we are all his target.
Victory will require an overvoltage of forces and iron unity. Now all the disagreements, all the views, all the opinions must be put aside. Our goal is one: to defeat the enemy by all possible means, to strike a crushing blow to his armed gangs, to destroy his military infrastructure, and, if necessary, to expand the security zone and impose a final peace.
We must all work together to accomplish this.
Our victory has no alternative. We protect the graves of our ancestors and the future of our children. We defend the right to live on landnof our ancestors.
The whole Armenian people is with us.
Justice is with us.
God is with us.
The victory will be ours".
