Today the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan did not consider the NSS motion to change the pretrial detention measure of PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan.
Adviser to the RA Prosecutor General Gor Abrahamyan told 1Lurer.am that the postponement of the hearing was conditioned by the fact that the defendant and his lawyers did not appear at today's hearing.
According to the information received, the next sitting is scheduled for September 25.
Gagik Tsarukyan is charged under Article 154.2 of the RA Criminal Code (receiving bribes from candidates, parties (party blocs)).
On June 21, the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan rejected the motion of the NSS investigator to detain Tsarukyan, at the same time stating that there was a reasonable suspicion in the case. The Prosecutor's Office had submitted an appeal, which was partially satisfied on July 8, and the issue of detention was sent to the court of first instance for a new examination.
