The Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of Armenia's Independence Day.
"Today we join the Armenian community in Canada, the Armenians of the world to celebrate the 29th anniversary of Armenia's independence. Canada was one of the first Western countries to recognize Armenia's independence by establishing diplomatic relations in 1992.
Since then, relations between the two countries have been built on common values and have only strengthened. More than 60,000 Canadians of Armenian descent make significant contributions to the country every day.
I was in Armenia in 2018, we discussed with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan the ways to further strengthen bilateral relations. We look forward to deepening our partnership in a number of important areas", Trudeau said.
