The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova commented on the settlement of Lebanese-Armenians in Nagorno Karabakh, ArmeniaSputnik.am reports.
"We have heard about the intention of the Nagorno-Karabakh de facto authorities to resettle the Armenians who left Lebanon. We have read reports that two Lebanese-Armenian families have expressed a desire to settle in Nagorno-Karabakh. We do not have data on the flow of Lebanese-Armenian refugees to Nagorno Karabakh and surrounding areas", said Maria Zakharova during the traditional briefing.
At the same time, official Moscow believes that it is now necessary to focus on resuming the negotiation process on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as resolving the issue of refugees and displaced persons.
Maria Zakharova reminded that the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs held telephone consultations with the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan on September 14 and conveyed to them the proposals of the mediators to continue the steps, including holding a separate meetings of Co-Chairs with each minister.
According to the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Russian side expects a positive response.
