Armenia will have four Su-25 SM3 fighters in the near future. According to the document signed with the Russian side, at this stage 4 out of 14 Su-25s of the Armenian Armed Forces will be modernized. Much of the obsolete equipment will be replaced, which will increase the aircraft's usability and combat effectiveness.
The modernization of the Su-25 implies the replacement of electronic-optical systems. After the upgrade, the fighter will be able to detect the target from a distance of 6-8 kilometers in automatic mode.
The "Vitebsk" system will be installed, which will allow effective protection against anti-aircraft missiles. The navigation system will also be upgraded, which will allow bombing quite accurately from a medium distance.
As a result of the modernization, the Su-25SM3 aircraft will be able to effectively use "sky-to-ground" missiles.
