Azerbaijan will not take part in the "Caucasus 2020" military exercises to be held in Russia in the fall. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the defense ministers of the SCO, CIS and CSTO member states had agreed to expand cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
"Azerbaijani servicemen will not take part in the "Caucasus 2020" military exercises, which will be held in Russia in September this year. It is planned to send two servicemen as observers to the above-mentioned military exercises", the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said in a press release.
Earlier, the Indian Ministry of Defense announced that India refuses to participate in the "Caucasus-2020" military exercises because of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. New Delhi has already informed Moscow of its decision.
"Caucasus 2020" command staff military exercises will be held in the south of Russia.
