In July, Turkey banned a German military plane from arriving in Armenia through its airspace and transporting Armenian peacekeepers on a peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, forcing Germany to send the plane to Armenia on a longer route.

According to the media, it is common for NATO member states to fly over each other's airspace, so it is considered a Turkish provocation.
