The ceremony of awarding active participants in the victorious battles of Tavush took place on August 28 at 19:00 in the Sardarapat memorial complex. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan awarded the medals to servicemen.
With the petition of the Prime Minister, by decrees of the President of the Republic, 16 participants in the victorious battles of Tavush were awarded the "Combat Cross" of the first degree, 55 military - the Order of the "Combat Cross" of the second degree. Captain Ruben Sanamyan was awarded the title of National Hero - Order of the Motherland.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a speech at the ceremony of awarding military personnel in Sardarabad.
“Today we have gathered at the Sardaradap Memorial, which is a symbol of the glorious victory of the Armenian people over the Ottoman army, on an exceptional occasion.
For the first time in the history of the Republic of Armenia, 55 servicemen serving in the Armed Forces are awarded the "Combat Cross" Order of the 2nd degree, 16 servicemen are awarded the "Combat Cross" Order of the 1st degree.
The event is unique in that 24 recipients are present here, I will be happy to hand the medals to them personally, other recipients are not present in person, they currently carry out their service to protect Armenia and security.
For the first time in the history of Armenia, an active serviceman of the Armed Forces is awarded the title of National Hero of Armenia.
Today I hand the Order of the Motherland to the Captain of the Armenian Army Ruben Sanamyan, and tomorrow he will continue to serve in his military unit as usual”, said the Prime Minister.
