Today's session of the government started with the discussion of the situation of the coronavirus. The Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan mentioned that 263 new coronavirus cases from 1993 tests, were confirned during the yesterday.
"In other words, by assessing and comparing the situation of the previous 2-3 weeks, we can conclude that we have a stabilization of the situation. The previous downturn seems to have stopped, but the situation with regard to the provision of medical care again remains light and more than manageable. We have no problem with that.
Given the economic activity and the mobility of the population, the number of citizens returning to Armenia, I think it will be very difficult to have lower cases than we have now, so we must expect that we can hardly record sharp declines. "But in order to maintain such a manageable state, we must at least keep the rules and the existing restrictions", the minister said,
In his speech Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that stability is relative, it can turn into instability at any moment.
""In general, we and the public react with excessive enthusiasm to the decline of numbers. Of course, the numbers have halved compared to July, but if we do not react correctly to the situation, we will return to the situation in July. We know that we will have 2-3 deaths out of 100 new cases, this is the case all over the world, therefore our perception remains the same: no citizen will be left without medical care, but the point is that our citizens must make an effort to avoid infection with the coronavirus.
My opinion remains the same - that individual responsibility is the most effective way to combat coronavirus, and my impression is that at the level of individual responsibility we have weakened our vigilance a little more than required", he added. Assessing the situation as problematic, he again called for adherence to anti-epidemic rules.
