The press service of the NKR Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically denies the report of the Russian website Topwar.ru. In that report, referring to the publication of the Polish agency Defense24, the following words are attributed to Artsakh Foreign Minister Masis Mailyan, which he allegedly expressed in the context of Turkey's possible intervention in the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict, saying.
"If such assistance (from Russia - the press service of the Artsakh Foreign Ministry) is not provided, Armenia will expel the Russians from its territory, which will mean the end of Russian influence in the Caucasus".
"Familiarity with the original article of the Polish agency leaves no doubt that the above-mentioned words belong to the retired serviceman and not to Minister Mailyan.
We hope that such a gross distortion of the fact is not the result of deliberate misinformation, but the result of a technical error caused by the infamous complications of translation.
Such a conclusion is conditioned by the fact that the Russian online resource Topwar.ru itself questions the similar opinion of the minister, noting "as if stated by the Artsakh Foreign Minister".
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Artsakh Republic hopes that the Russian news agency will show a constructive approach and immediately correct the mistake", the statement reads.
