The special sitting of the National Assembly discusses the decision made at the sitting of the Government to extend the term of the state of emergency. As the Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan noted, according to the decision, the state of emergency will continue in the whole territory of the Republic until September 11.
"I hope the state of emergency is being extended for the last time. At the same time, due to the current epidemiological situation in the country, a number of mitigations have taken place in the state of emergency", said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Referring to the decrease in the number of infected people, who are geting actual treatment, he noted: "The number of patients geting actual treatment gives us grounds for cautious optimism. Today we assess the epidemiological situation in the country as from moderate to mild. From the point of view of the healthcare system, the situation is completely under control. The number of new cases confirmed daily in absolute numbers is still high, with an average of about 100-200 people, but if in the past the new positive cases reached 25-30% of the number of tests performed in 24 hours, now that number fluctuates between 10-15%." said Avinyan.
He stressed that the observing the safety rules set to prevent the spread of the epidemic has so far yielded positive results, but as the experience of many other countries shows, where it seemed that the virus has been overcome, new outbreaks occur within days. "Everyone should be more vigilant and disciplined for the sake of the people's health and safety", said the Deputy Prime Minister.
