The decision to extend the state of emergency was made at today's Government sitting. The National Assembly will convene a special sitting today to discuss the issue.
The Prime Minister Pashinyan touched upon the issue of freedom of assembly, noting that in practice this decision removes restrictions on freedom of assembly, but the observance of anti-epidemic rules is mandatory.
"Demonstrations, marches, rallies can take place in Armenia, provided that the participants are wearing masks and maintaining social distance of 1.5 m. I think this is an important record, and the restriction came from the anti-epidemic situation. Unless, God forbid, we have increased numbers again as a result of these reductions, we will have to impose restrictions again.
We proceed from the analysis of the anti-epidemic status. Now it is declining. In the conditions of that decline, it has become possible to weaken these restrictions or to eliminate them in some areas", the Prime Minister emphasized.
