Today the President of the Republic Armen Sargsyan had a telephone conversation with the His Holiness Aram I, the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia.
The President inquired about the details of the powerful explosion in Beirut yesterday, expressing his deep concern over the situation. Sargsyan expressed his concern over the situation in the Armenian-populated Burj Hamoud district, which suffered from the explosion, and the damage done to Mother Monastery, over the condition of our Lebanese-Armenian compatriots.
Armen Sargsyan also expressed his condolences to His Holiness on the occasion of the victims of the explosion, including our compatriots. He wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the blast.
Expressing his support to the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, the Lebanese-Armenian community, President Sargsyan also expressed readiness to support.
Armen Sargsyan expressed confidence that the Lebanese-Armenians, who have gone through many trials, together with the whole friendly people of Lebanon, will be able to overcome this ordeal.
