On July 31, the RA Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Artsakh Foreign Minister Masis Mailyan. The newly appointed representative of Artsakh in Armenia Sergey Ghazaryan also took part in the meeting.
Welcoming the guests Minister Mnatsakanyan congratulated Sergey Ghazaryan on his appointment as Artsakh's Representative in Armenia.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the steps taken to reduce tensions in certain parts of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border following the aggressive actions unleashed by the Azerbaijani armed forces since July 12.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Artsakh stressed the need to further strengthen the general security system of Armenia and Artsakh and the steps taken in this direction. In this regard the parties stressed the need for a resolute refusal to introduce a destabilizing policy in the region.
Minister Mnatsakanyan stressed that the Artsakh Republic must become a full party to the talks in discussions on all issues of the peace process.
In the context of this issue, the Foreign Ministers prioritized the creation of an environment conducive to peace by the strengthening and maintenance of the ceasefire regime, the public renunciation of the use of force by Azerbaijan, the cessation of anti-Armenian rhetoric, and the introduction of international monitoring mechanisms.
