The Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The parties congratulated each other on the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha. The presidential office of Azerbaijan has issued a statement on this.
It is noted that the leaders of the two countries noted with satisfaction the daily development of relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan and expressed confidence that bilateral relations will continue to strengthen.
Erdogan and Aliyev noted that the large-scale joint Turkish-Azerbaijani military exercises launched in Azerbaijan are "successful". According to them, these military exercises are "another manifestation of friendly and fraternal relations" between the two countries.
Referring to the recent developments on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the President of Azerbaijan told Erdogan that "they highly appreciate Turkey's resolute support to Azerbaijan".
